The Gallery: Curated Artist Work

Lawrence Beck began photographing Water Lilies in the late 1990’s primarily in Black and White. His interests in Nature were focused on subject matter found within Botanical Gardens, and ultimately spawned the Water Lily series which he continued to this day. The obvious connection to Monet’s Water Lily paintings from Giverny, and to a lesser extent the photographs of Atget from Versailles, have allowed Beck to concentrate on a contemporary version of this wondrous subject-matter. Nature remains the muse around which, the study of patterns, light, form and space, continue to fascinate Beck’s interests in Water Lilies.
